Clemastine Fumarate

Pharmacotherapeutic group: Antihistamine & Ethanolamine derivativ
Therapeutic indication: Perennial and seasonal allergic or vasomotor rhinitis & Allergic conjunctivitis & Urticaria & Angioedema & Pruritus
Dosage and Administration: Tablet 1mg & Injection 2mg/2ml
Adult: Oral; 1.34mg bid or 2.68mg one to three times a day as needed. Not to exceed 8.04mg/d .IM or slow IV; Total daily doses 2 to 4mg for acute allergic reaction. For prophylaxis 2mg/d Pediatric 6 to 12 years: Oral; 0.67mg to 1.34mg bid, not to exceed  .02mg/d
Injection: 25µg/kg/d in two divided doses IM.
Side effect: Drowsiness, sedation, dizziness, headache, tingling, heaving and weakness of the hands, gastrointestinal upset, stomach pain, nausea, hypotension, palpitation, bradycardia, tachycardia, thickening of bronchial secretions, anemia, thrombocytopenia, leucopenia, agranulocytosis, urinary frequency, dysuria, skin rash, urticaria.
